How To Revive Your Old Weaving Hair And Extension?

There is one thing for hair weave and extension consumers that, how to make my old hair weave look like? For tangled and matted wigs or weaves, this is an important thing. Well, guess what? There's hope! Here's a way to bring your weave back to life and prep it for your next install, extending the lifetime of your Indian remy hair weave or other remy human hair extensions while saving you some coins.

1.Dry

First, you need to detangle your Indian natural wave hair bundles or straight weave Just like your natural hair, you don't want to throw water on it and start combing and ripping it to shreds. Depending on how bad the situation is, you can also put some conditioner on the hair to provide some slip. You can use extra virgin olive oil diluted with water. Start from the bottom up when detangling so you don't rip out any strands from the weft.

2.Soaking

After detangling, soak the hair for about 20 minutes in apple cider vinegar diluted with water. This will work as a cleaning agent to get rid of the buildup on the hair and clean the wefts. If you are attempting to revive while your straight Indian hair bundles are installed, you can put the ACV mixture in a spray bottle and spray it on to the hair and leave it.  Yes, I know it smells but that goes away once you're all rinsed out.

3. Washing

 First, rinse out the ACV mixture from your Indian remy human hair.  Remember, this is hair, not laundry so you want to make sure rinsing from top to bottom and not scrubbing as scrubbing with cause even more tangling. Then get a gentle clarifying shampoo to finish removing the buildup of product on the remy Indian hair. You can use clarifying shampoo. This is inexpensive and can be found at Walmart, Target, and even the dollar store. You'll probably start seeing some brown as you lather and rinse.  This is normal and a good thing.  It means the build-up is going BYE BYE.

Do another shampoo. But this time, shampoo with silicon mix.  silicon mix is the defibrillator for a virgin Indian remy hair bundle on life support. Do a good shampoo/soak with this and rinse. You will see your hair come back to her old beautiful self.

4. Condition

Now that you've shampooed, let's condition. Apply your conditioner of choice and let it stay on your hair for about 20-30 minutes. If your straight or wavy human hair is installed, put on a plastic shower cap and let it sit. If you want to penetrate the hair, even more, sit under the dryer. For hair that is not installed, place the conditioned hair into a plastic ziplock bag and let it sit.  You can apply heat if you would like to as well.

5.Dry

Once the hair is conditioned, rinse thoroughly and let air dry in the air. Your hair will be soft and manageable and ready for styling or your next install.

Care For Your Hair Underneath The Indian Hair Weave

Weaves make great protective styles and last for many weeks. Taking care of your real hair underneath your Indian weave hair is very important to achieve healthy hair and retain length. Many people are guilty of neglecting their hair underneath their weaves. Thus resulting in dry and brittle hair as well as little to no length retention when it comes time to remove your weave. If you have ever questioned why this may be the result of one of your takedown, you might be guilty of not taking care of your hair underneath your weaves.

1.It does not take much to maintain your hair underneath your weave. But keep in mind that moisture is the key to hair growth. However, be sure not to overload your hair with moisture. Here are a couple things you can try to keep your hair moisturized and healthy while it hibernates underneath your weave. Mix water and leave-in-conditioner in a spray bottle or squeeze bottle and apply to scalp/braids.

I personally prefer using a squeeze bottle because it is much easier to reach my scalp. I only recommend using the water and leave-in-conditioner mix once a week. Too much water without drying can cause hair to mildew and become smelly.

2. Put your favorite oils, like coconut oil, olive oil, wild growth oil etc. into a squeeze bottle and apply to scalp/braids.

3.You can do this as many times as you'd like. I personally do it every other night or when my scalp is itchy. I also use this same oil on my edges to ensure that they do not get thin during the time that I wear a weave. Be careful when applying oil to your scalp because some may drip onto your tracks and may cause your hair to become oily.

4.Making sure that your hair is moisturized and well taken care of underneath your hair will ensure great results when it's time to remove your weave. Make sure to take note of which oils/leave-in-conditioners provide the best results for your hair.
